Christmas is coming, and we all know what that means – chestnuts roasting on an open fire, presents under the tree and, of course, the busiest time of the year in retail.
But is your fashion affiliate programme ready for the onslaught of hungry shoppers looking for Christmas presents, party frocks and early January sale deals? Now’s your time to take stock and make it battle ready, so you can make the best of the upcoming shopping season.
Here are a few things you could be doing right now to make sure your fashion affiliate programme is ready to go.
Go on a recruitment drive
This is a good time to promote the affiliate programme, as affiliates are getting their sites ready too. Many of them will be looking to refresh or add to their offerings, or branch out, so making sure your programme is visible may mean you gain some valuable contacts. You may be able to get help from your network to identify top performing affiliates who may be interested in working with you. You can also actively promote your programme on industry forums and at affiliate events – there are many industry Christmas parties coming up!
This is obviously a very profitable time for affiliates too, with plenty of brands and products they could be pushing. If you want them to promote your brand or store above all others, you may want to consider giving them some incentives. Increasing commission for your best affiliates, introducing a commission structure that rewards high performers or running a competition for affiliates can all go a long way to make affiliates choose your brand at this important time. As this time of year often calls for presents, it won’t hurt to think of maybe sending some small branded gifts to top performing affiliates to remind them that you exist and strengthen their brand loyalty.
Affiliates are going to be looking for good deals to promote at this time of year and consumers are obviously looking for cheaper prices and special offers. To give your business a competitive edge, it might be worth thinking up some promotional deal that are financially viable and in keeping with brand values and style.
Give your advertising materials a makeover
This is a great time to refresh your bank of advertising banners with seasonal adverts, so they can fit in with the festive theme and draw attention to your current offers. If you have any special seasonal deals or products you can often increased conversions by giving them their own dedicated landing pages to help customers find them quicker.
Be proactive in providing content
This is the time to check in with your affiliates to see if there is anything they need from you in order to be able to promote your products during this time. As it’s going to be a busy time for everyone on the run up to Christmas and the sales, you can help them by providing unique content they can use on their websites as well as new photos, etc.
If you’re sending out products to be reviewed by bloggers, it’s good to send products off early, as things may take longer to arrive in the run up to the holiday period.
