Senior Marketing & PR Manager

While the rest of the team are delivering marketing campaigns for our bunch of lovely clients, Lauren is busy taking charge of Silverbean’s own Marketing and PR activity.

Professionally, she’s acquired a wealth of experience in marketing management roles across various sectors, as well as a tonne of freelance journalism for various publications and blogs. Whilst at University, she was at the helm of the student radio station’s breakfast show, and had big plans of becoming a radio presenter before finding her love for marketing & PR during a placement at another local agency.

Lauren manages all there is to manage with regards to communications here at Silverbean. She leads on our overall agency marketing plan, content marketing strategy, events, brand development, PR, outreach campaigns and the design direction and copy writing of all Silverbean collateral, as well as speaking at the occasional industry event and leading the charge against #PointlessMarketing within the agency. She’s also our resident Social Secretary, so those legendary Silverbean socials you hear about are her doing.

In keeping with Silverbean’s penchant for recruiting avid foodies, Lauren also somehow finds the time to run an award-winning food blog and is a Brand Ambassador for French Connection. She also featured (twice, for two years running!) in The Journal’s ‘North East’s Most Influential 2014′ guide, in the Top 35 under 35 Young Business Talent, and in The Drum’s Top 50 under 30 ‘Women in Digital’.

Did you know?

Lauren grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. In fact, she was fluent in Afrikaans and went to a school where no English was spoken at all, but she can’t remember a single word of it today!

After almost 3 years at Silverbean, I can honestly say it's the best job I've ever had.

I'm lucky enough to come to work every day with talented, vibrant, enthusiastic and like-minded people, all of whom possess actual expertise to do brilliant work that keeps our clients happy.

My department is responsible for shouting about the agency, and it couldn't be easier when there are so many good things to shout about! The staff benefits scheme is also a lovely perk, and the freedom to make my job my own in everything I do an even bigger plus.

Put it this way, it's no coincidence are staff retention rates are so high!

#1 item on bucket list:

My #1 item was to visit New York, but since I’ll be doing that in Spring 2017, I guess I’d have to say a round-the-world trip. Places like the Philippines, Fiji, New Zealand and Bali are all very much on my hit-list, and I’ve always wanted to go to Tokyo!
